Re: BC Rivers Day Music Festival Organization Display

Your organization is invited to participate in the eighth annual BC Rivers Day in Prince George at Fort George Park on Sunday, September 28th from 12 to 5 pm.

BC Rivers Day is part of province-wide events held the last Sunday of every September, and offers people the opportunity to get out and experience and celebrate British Columbia's spectacular river heritage. We anticipate 3,000 to 4,000 people to participate throughout the day.

A display from your organization in Fort George Park will promote your organization's profile and will also educate and raise awareness to the public on the importance of our local rivers. Our theme this year is History of the Rivers of British Columbia - Celebrating the 200th anniversary of Simon Fraser's expedition down the Fraser River; and the 150th anniversary of British Columbia. We encourage you to focus your display on that topic. The Committee would be more than happy to discuss display ideas with you.

Community groups interested in setting up a display for the promotion of programs, activities or education on river stewardship and climate change programs, recreational MUST fill out the attached registration form and return by Friday, September 5th @ 4pm.

Each group is responsible for all their own equipment requirements including display items, table, chairs and tent. Display patrons are also responsible for set up from 9 am-noon and take down from 5-6 pm. There is no charge for setting up your display.

The Prince George Rivers Day Committee is looking forward to confirming your organizations presence at the eighth annual BC Rivers Day Music Festival. Please call Susan Owen at (250) 564-4115 ext 291, or email susan@marlimecological.com if you have any questions. Thank you.
